This is the beginning of something fantastic as pioneers and innovators work together to change the way we work, play, communicate, interact, and experience media. Augmented Reality has the potential to change everything about our daily lives, and we are dedicated to doing it right.

The AR Consortium’s goals include providing a forum for members to meet, share ideas, and discuss issues facing the growth of the industry, as well as open a dialog about emerging standards and protocols.

While we are currently limiting membership to business entities for whom AR is their primary focus; in the future we plan to welcome individual leaders and pioneers working in academia, development, and other areas of the field who are actively involved in pioneering AR research, application, design, and theory. The Consortium will also seek the involvement of Corporations with a vested interest in augmented reality as Associate Members or Sponsors.

An annual conference is planned, with the location rotating as each founding corporation takes the role of Host.
